China-ASEAN Block Train
China-ASEAN Block Train is a part of the Trans-Asian Rail Express, which refers to the container train from or via China to South Asian countries.At present, there are 5 ASEAN train ports, which are Shanyao/Laojie and Pingxiang/Tongdeng ports connecting Vietnam; Mohan/Boding ports connecting Laos; Ruili/Mujie ports and Houqiao ports connecting Myanmar.
There are two main types of cargo for China-ASEAN Block Train:One is China's import and export goods (return same), the other is transit goods from Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and other countries passing through China (return same).
What is ASEAN?
Association of Southeast Asian Nations (referred to as ASEAN) was formerly the Association of Southeast Asian Nations established in Bangkok on July 31, 1961 by Malaya (now Malaysia), the Philippines and Thailand. On August 7-8, 1967, the foreign ministers of Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines and the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia held a meeting in Bangkok and issued the "Bangkok Declaration", officially announcing the establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. On August 28-29, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines held a ministerial meeting in Kuala Lumpur and decided to replace the Association of Southeast Asian Nations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. There are currently 10 member countries, namely Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
